I  invented Theta twenty-three years ago when my foot and knee pain was so disabling that I was embarrassed to let my patients see how I limped into their exam room. The pain forced me to understand then invent this totally unique orthotic design.  Now after 23 years of treating patients in my office, and thousands more on the internet, I know I can help you. 

If you are a mature patient who just wants to keep walking, a child or adult suffering from disabling pain, or an athlete struggling with chronic injury, I can provide help not available from any other source.

As the top physician here at Theta-Orthotics.com I'll provide some personal background. I was born and raised in Utah where I completed my undergraduate, premedical training.  After 4 years in Philadelphia, attending the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, I graduated in the top ten percent of my class with the degree Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM).  During my four years of study I was nominated to and was made president of the Sterling Hartford Anatomical Society.  Additionally, I received upon graduation an award given by the Department of Surgery as the most outstanding student.

During the time I was completing my surgical residency at North lake hospital in North lake IL, I received the Gold Medal Stickel Award for anatomical research I started during my last year of Podiatry School.  This award was given by the Journal of Podiatric Medicine for the most outstanding research published during the 1981 year.

I completed my surgical residency in 1981 and returned to Utah to begin my private practice.  In addition to my clinical practice, over the last 24 years I have continued to be active in research, most importantly that involved with human biomechanics and orthotic function beginning from 1984 until present.

I have six children: Aaron, Shane, Justin, Shaun, Kirstie, and Cosette. I now have three beautiful grandchildren Aiden, Emma and Lana.

Now 54 years old, I currently enjoy many outdoor activities including camping, hiking, canoeing, and mountain biking. I have been so fortunate as to even compete in a few sanctioned mountain bike races, and doing it pain free.

My future goals, in addition to enjoying the wonders of our planet with my beautiful children and grand children, include most importantly sharing, with as many people as possible, the understandings I have been privileged to learn about function, posture, and pain control.
